Privacy and recording consent
Your health information
MediANZ keeps your profile, appointments and visit records so your clinic can care for you. Your health information is never used for advertising or analytics, never put in web addresses, and never sent to error tracking services.
Your location is used only in your browser to find nearby clinics. It is not stored. What you type in “What do you need help with?” is kept in the page until you book, and then saved as the reason for your appointment.
Ratings: other patients see only star averages, never comments. Your comment goes to the clinic. You can choose not to show your name to the clinician.
Recording this consultation
Recording a consultation is optional. Your care is the same whether or not you agree. This is the wording you see before agreeing (version v2):
- What is recorded
- The conversation between you and your clinician during this consultation, turned into a written transcript.
- Audio is not stored
- The audio is turned into text as it is recorded and then discarded. No audio is saved anywhere.
- You review the transcript first
- You can read the draft transcript and approve or reject it. Rejected drafts, and drafts you don't review within the review period, are deleted.
- AI help with the notes
- After you approve the transcript, AI tools draft notes from it, such as medicines, test results and follow-ups, for your clinician to check. Nothing is added to your record until your clinician approves it.
- Who can see the transcript
- You can see your drafts and approved transcripts. Your clinician can see a transcript only after you approve it. Clinic reception staff cannot see transcripts.
- Both of you must agree
- Recording starts only when both you and your clinician have agreed. Either of you can withdraw at any time; withdrawing stops the recording and deletes every transcript and AI draft for this appointment.
